Shay-Jean evolved from the successful creative collaborations that Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas have developed while starring in the ABC television show “Castle” for eight seasons. Their infectious chemistry has created one of the most endearing bro-mance partnerships on television. Shay-Jean features the alter egos of Seamus (Shay) and Jon (Jean) as a musical group that infuses 90’s influenced R&B, combined with eclectic hip hop, to create an electrifying sound that also harnesses their consummate chemistry and comedic tones that has endeared so many fans around the world. With the special release of their first single, “Definition of Love,” with the video featured exclusively on the Castle Season 7 DVD, this new project extends the dynamic duo’s successful partnership from on-screen into a new groovy and infectious musical collaboration. Their next single and music video will release in November 2015.
 

Seamus Dever

Seamus Dever has played Det. Kevin Ryan for the past six very successful seasons of "Castle." An actor since the age of six, Dever has performed in over 60 plays and musicals in his lifetime. He credits his drama teacher father and history professor mother for their support, balance and encouragement. Dever is widely recognized to audiences from his breakthrough performances as Dr. Getti on "Army Wives" and Dr. Ian Devlin on ABC's "General Hospital." He recently appeared on "Mad Men" and "Drop Dead Diva," and he still pops up from time to time on repeats of his old guest star roles on all three "CSI" shows, as well as "NCIS," "Charmed," "Cold Case" and "Without a Trace." On the big screen he appeared in "Hollywoodland" and in the independent comedy "Ready or Not." He most recently starred in and produced the Tribeca Film festival short, "Sequestered." Well known to Los Angeles theatre audiences, Dever portrayed Alex in the LA premiere of "A Clockwork Orange." He received rave reviews and nominations for an Ovation Award, Garland Award and Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award. One of the highlights of his LA theatre career was his notable performance in "iWitness" at The Mark Taper Forum. This past summer, he starred in LA Theatre Works' "The Hound of the Baskervilles." Dever was born in Flint, MI and moved to Bullhead City, AZ when he was six years old. Valedictorian of his high school, he received a bachelor's degree in theatre after only three years at Northern Arizona University. He was accepted into the graduate program at the prestigious Carnegie-Mellon University and The Moscow Art Theatre. He holds master's degrees in acting and is the youngest person to have completed this program. He is also a lifetime member of the renowned Actors Studio.

Jon Huertas

Jon Huertas’ currently stars as Detective Javier “Espo” Esposito on ABC’s Castle. His work on “Castle” has been recognized with a 2012 ALMA Award and a 2013 for an Imagen Award. He also starred as the outspoken and gritty Sgt. Antonio “Poke” Espera in the highly acclaimed, Emmy-nominated miniseries, “Generation Kill. As a Producer/Director Jon has created shorts like “The Box”, “Lone” and Neil Labute’s short “After School Special”, all distributed through Shorts HD and his fondness of documentaries led him to produce the film “American Dreamers”, a doc about six undocumented youth and an ally who risk their freedom when they publicly come out as undocumented, and walk 3,000 miles to the nation's capital to organize for immigrant rights. He has also directed Special Features content for Castle’s DVD box sets and will be directing an episode of Castle in season 8. As an actor who happens to be Latino, Jon is passionate about the Latino participation in mainstream English language media and currently works for strives to cultivate better content and stronger roles for Male Latino roles in Television and Cinema. He’s a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and currently serves on the National & Hollywood Local Board Directors of SAG-AFTRA.

Definition of Love is the first single of Shay-Jean and also the song that Esposito and Ryan wrote for Castle and Beckett's wedding in season 7 of Castle. Thereby, the music video of Definition of love exclusively released on Castle Season 7 DVDs. The song will be available for download on major music outlets on September 18, 2015.
